I have2 gasoline vehicles on the road, chain saws, gas furnace and hw heater, and I burn wood.........my carbon Footprint is like Bigfoot and I am proud of it. I also race a bit in SCDA and SCCA and at Cicero Drag Strip.
I am sure I violate the greenies bill of rights in other ways, too. Having an address that has Nat Gas grandfathered, in NYS, is a big plus for resale value, now.

Good....because they can never comply with that standard. In its current form electricity, at least the vast majority is not (and can not) "renewable" based on power generation sources......so FUCK OFF NYS.
This data has changed very little since 2015.
National Security exemption...Uncle Sam and the EPA knew making Diesel Engines comply would be cost prohibitive, unreliable, and less powerful than needed for Military/Tactical Vehicles and Equipment, additionally at the time of inception, the Military was drawing away from anything that used MOGAS in favor of Diesel (and its derivatives) for safety and logistical reasons.

This hasn't actually passed yet. Any politician who supports this doesn't take care of their own property. I do have battery powered tools where appropriate, but the number and size of lawns that I take care of can't be done without a gas or diesel mower.

I am not going to buy anything battery electric, only because it's a fire risk.
Not going to see my house go up in flames because FUKH wants me to use electric gardening tools. I worked my fucking ass off for what I own.
Only thing I have is 4x 5ah DeWalt batteries, and I have them in a battery fire resistant metal container away from combustibles. When I charge them, I'm close by and have them on the garage floor away from everything.
My work laptop sits on a granite counter top when I'm not using it, and my cell phone does the same.

Is there even battery operated equipment to do my two acre+ property in a timely manner, as well as be as cost effective as a $100 push mower from Walmart? My old JD 110 riding mower is a workhorse for its size. Never had an issue. The new Cub Cadet Zero Turn is a heaping pile of trash......selling it soon.

The early (80's) Ford Ranger could be had with a spiffy 4cyl Diesel...crazy fuel economy for the time, not exactly a power house, but certainly did the job.

I worked for ford then they also had diesel in ford escort and mercury topaz most of them averaged 50 MPG great cars your right they were no powerhouse was only a 2.0 with about 52 Hp made by Mazda if I remember right .

I have 2 to 4 acres of grass to mow. Sometimes I do all 4 acres and sometimes I leave the back 48 for another time. There is no frickin way I can even mow the being lazy about it 2 acres without a gasoline-powered mower.
On top of that, I mow my elderly neighbor's 2 acres at no charge. They have been great neighbors of mine for 32ish years and they are super old farts at this point. So I'm more than glad to help them keep their property in good shape. But I couldn't do that without my gasoline-powered stuff.

I love Dewalt tools but the battery lawn mowers they make suck. The 10 amp hour battery they make is trash.
Sounds about right; I had forgotten about the Diesel Escorts; we had one come in used to the Ford Dealership I worked at and they let me use it for a few days while the trans was out of my Truck...it would turn around 4,000 RPM which is singing right along for a Diesel. I don't know but I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find Mazda made it.
