Yes, in some states a Working Dog or Patrol Horse is considered a Police Officer. An assault upon this horse would be consider the same as attacking a uniformed officer. (More than likely a Felony charge.)

In any state stabbing a horse an officer is riding should be considered "fear for your life" inspiring.

People get killed for reaching for their wallet and it's considered acceptable, but actually stabbing the horse isn't ? Was there *any* reason for that officer not to assume he was next ?

That would require the officer to dismount, leaving the horse in greater danger. Call for back up and have the bitch dragged away would have been an option. Holding the "spear" to the horse is definitely a hostile act, I bet you could prove intent.

Sadly some states consider working animals property and they are not given credit for doing their jobs.
I would guess stabbing a police animal leaves little or no regard to the officer riding or working it.
Yes, if I were riding, I'd probably think what next, me? I'd at least have drawn a night stick!

The best part is these asshole do everything to hide their identities she made herself look like a boy by shaving her head so if she ran she could just hideout for a month or two and grow it back in. The property thing is irrelevant. If I stabbed a knife through the door of a cop car, I'd expect the cop to put a couple rounds in me. That right there is absolutely a legitimate fear for your life. They have demonstrated that they have both the means and intention to cause you serious harm.
