Only because the NYS Republican Committee is as crooked as Coumo Democrats. Last time he ran without backing from (our) own party he took over 40% of the vote. Asterino will have my vote in the primary.
Lee Zeldon has been placed in postion just like Biden has.

Must be. I had no clue. I know Zeldin and Wilson are. I like Wilson and will vote for him in the primary. No one know who Zeldin is, not that Harry Wilson is a household name, but it’s easier to remember and identify with than Zeldin is.

It's disgusting when NY Republicans weilding power go to the dark side and immerse themselves with supporters or friends that are a grand jury waiting to happen. So far, based on the players working for the candidates as well as checks campaigns seem to have written, Astorino seems to be the cleanest.

I doubt he is outworking or out "pressing flesh" than Astorino and Zeldin spends less time on the campaign trail (he is being paid by taxpayers to do the job he has).
Zeldin is certainly outspending ... with monies also going to the likes of D'Amato and Pataki consultants and lobbyists. Zeldin is also getting funds because of the "NY Uni-Party" endorsement that is not made available to the other "outsider" candidates.

If you open up the newsmax app his mug is the first thing you see for over a month now.
Say what you want but the average ny voter is not deeply informed on candidates voting records and views anyone opposing the status quo as an “outsider”. These are the folks that will pull the lever for Lee Zeldin. (Along with his LI homies) If Rob is serious about winning he better change up his tactics, and quickly.

He's preemptively aligning with the forthcoming SCOTUS ruling! Doing so that he can say he's has supported that very thing before they made their ruling! Not that it's a bad thing, just that he's playing politics with it. Otherwise his narrative would be different, not just supporting "shall" issue, but condemning the State and it's malfeasance towards law abiding citizens exercising their 2A Rights!

Based on the conversations I had with him, Astorino is solidly pro-2A.
He may be taking advantage of the pending SCOTUS decision in making this anouncement, but I don't think it represents a change in his views.
