Why would that be? I just banged out 300 rounds through my AR yesterday. Had a ton of fun.

Nope but I do get the “that gun is illegal” every once in awhile when I drop the mag
Meanwhile here in PA I feel inadequate surrounded by guys with suppressed SBRs
I guess it depends on your area. Around here (long island) that’s what most guys are shooting at the range. Along with a few precision rifles.

when I was a club president. The only time in NY I noticed when someone was shooting something it was a SBR.
People are either ignorant of the law or just don’t care. I would just tell them to be careful with a gun in that configuration there are quite a few LEOs among our membership.

I was at range two Saturdays ago. Three younger shooters hit the line and were nervously keeping an eye my group. They were shooting semis. I keep an eye on the line to make sure my group is safe basically an informal RSO for changing targets. I walked down to the new group and explained how I was handling things. I didn't care what gear they had but winked and stated what happens at the range, stays at the range. Evil little smirks were shared by all.

I've seen some SBR configurations with permanantly attached fake cans making for a longer barrel. Allegedly this is ATF compliant, any chance what they were using?
Nope not even close. I didn’t care what they were shooting just as long as they were safe. I would just give them a polite warning.
I have always firmly believed in minding my own damn business.
I don't get involved unless there's stupidity going on...Sometimes IF someone is obviously having difficulty zeroing a Scope or mechanical problems I'll ask if they could use some help, otherwise "Don't be a Keven".
I'm the same way. Also if someone is doing something dangerous I will speak up. If however if someone shows up with a belt fed machine gun it's not my job nor concern to check paperwork. We all know here that we aren't going to help the government enforce laws we know are unjust.
I will not go to a range if there are actively working RSO's.

Not much in the way of ranges around here, everybody just shoots on thier own property. Sounds like the 4th of July every weekend. Ah.... freedom!
You guys inspired me to take a trip out: I've got a Savage 93 in .17HMR and another Savage in .17Mach II that needed to be zeroed...the HMR produces a nice tight group...the Mach II was lackluster; a bitch to load the magazine, and after firing the first round, it cycled, but didn't reset the Hammer, charged it again and ran just fine, did it to me twice. The Chamber of the HMR likely needs a good scrubbing as a few cases stuck and pulled through the extractors...Used guns are almost always a gamble with varying odds.
Burned the Trash, picked up Brass, made some mental notes for the next trip out to do some maintenance...funny, at this Range I almost never see anyone else, but the Garbage Cans and Targets left behind clearly say it's being used. Around here, I have the option of about 12 Ranges/Clubs within 15 miles of my House.
