The federal government has been using Americans’ income and gun purchases to conduct warrantless tracking and deny Second Amendment rights. Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) gave salary estimates to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as the reason to have people’s firearms purchases monitored.

Interesting. While I understand the theory behind this and the man making $3,000 could be a gang member or buying them for criminals I had no idea we had a legal system that convicted you on should of could have would haves.
Now I also had no idea we had to report our income on the NICS background check so why are they using this data in the first place?
I’d like to know if they investigated this guy and what if anything was found. Could he be not reporting income because that’s not a crime where your rights can be violated.
Lastly if anyone is surprised by this they haven’t woken up in a long time.

Too Poor to Buy Guns​

According to the documents, a man in Arizona was put into the NICS’s daily monitoring because he has a “reported income” of only $2,839. The ATF agent wrote, “In my experience, someone with this amount of income would not be able to afford 20 firearms.”
