Technically there is no such thing as an "assault rifle". That was a previous made-up term to scare the public into going along with a ban on full-auto firearms.

It is a *select fire* rifle in an intermediate caliber.
Assault weapon is the made up term, designed to cause confusion with actual assault rifles.
A semi-auto assault rifle would be like dehydrated water. The first half of the name precludes the second.

The INDIVIDUAL is the fundamental criteria of the Bill of Rights to begin with. But really ... It is, whatever it is, because the scrutiny applied to the one Right that has the disclaimer "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" is anything but these days!...
So let the cards fall where they may. Let the overzealous frothing at the mouth liberals do their dirty work and trample upon those who cherish their freedoms above all else. Let the try and recreate things in their own ideology in spite of what others think, feel or want. It will all find it's balance in the end. The question is what will it take to unbalance the system and create a need for resettling...
