What are you folks paying? Do they hit you harder for online stuff like Buds, GB? Any shops wave the fee if you buy from them at a higher cost? $75 sound crazy?
Last long gun i bought the guy charged me 100! Wish i woulda asked first, i assumed it would be about 50 as thats what i paid for the several before that one (from a different shop). Needless to say i wont use that guy again.
Better to buy/sell with someone you trust and say FUNY (if you can).
Christ! Thinking in terms of stuff like receivers I’m starting to see what is fueling the 80% and “roll your own” industry. Last rifle I bought was a .50 bmg so I didn’t even look cause I was already financially bleeding. But now that I looked, it was $50. Was loading the shopping cart with a couple of 12 gauges from Buds and stumbled twice. First they charge NYS tax now in Kentucky? Second the transfer fees. Emptied cart. Buds sends me an email “ pick up where you left off” No thanks.
Wasn't unSAFE supposed to limit that to $10?
Not sure where you are, but Wallkill River Small Arms I believe is $25 for a long gun bought online. In person private transfer is $10.
And yes, $75 is near robbery
Yeah I guess I’m on the wrong side of the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge…. no no,Wasn't unSAFE supposed to limit that to $10?

$100??!!! Did that transfer come with a little sack of gold? I would have said, no thanks and left.Last long gun i bought the guy charged me 100!
Had we been able to use my normal guy (literally a mile down the road) it would only have been $10, but he wasn't available that day unfortunately. The place we used has a lock on that area as far as mainstream ffl goes.Well let's see. When I purchased the shotgun I purchased from @VetTechCherrybomb the fee was $35 (not local).
I ordered a shotgun from Buds and picked up local $25
Yes it does. The place I did mine at was $25.00. $10 for the transfer and a $15.00 service charge.Wasn't unSAFE supposed to limit that to $10?

Understood. It was what it was.Had we been able to use my normal guy (literally a mile down the road) it would only have been $10, but he wasn't available that day unfortunately. The place we used has a lock on that area as far as mainstream ffl goes.
I haven't seen $100 yet, but between $25-75 is what I've seen it go up to since the Rona panic started. Most places raised their prices. I definitely get it for handguns since (at least in Westchester), theymight be storing that piece for you for anywhere from weeks to months. That takes up space in their safe and creates one more place for errors in their compliance ledger. For rifles, where they have to unbox it, log it, store it for a day or two, hand you the 4473, and call in your background check, $75 is pretty nuts.RISE charged me 100$....
I stand corrected. They raised the price to 40 bucks.Hudson valley shooting sports only charges like 25 bucks.
If they cost anything at all it's an infringement.Rights are expensive.

It is much more of a hassle than you described. It don't really matter if its one day or a year FFL has to accept delivery, unpack it, log it in their book and then notify buyer that it is ready for pickup. some show up before it is logged in because tracking told them it was delivered and they expect FFL to drop everything and take care of them. Now the 4473 can be done that can take a few minutes, days, 30+ day NY wait or never. After a proceed is given FFL must finish paperwork, log it out of book then store 4473 for 20 years all because buyer is saving money buying online where seller doesn't have to deal with all that crap. Time is money and I don't think anyone here works for peanuts.I haven't seen $100 yet, but between $25-75 is what I've seen it go up to since the Rona panic started. Most places raised their prices. Very true but it is the law until somehow its changed. If they cost anything at all it's an infringement.
