I would say start there and then drop to 8 sec. 6 sec. etc etc. try and get down to 3-4

I cant seem to find it but I saw a similar drill where the time changed with the distance. The close shots were really fast and the distance ones were slower. I'll keep looking.

I used to do this one a lot. It was one of my favorite drills and stages in IPSC but we shot it at 7 yards.

I use a shot timer app for my iphone. It's not as robust as a standalone shot timer, but it gets the job done. And it was free.

I have one on my phone but don't have a belt attachment for my phone so I have no way of moving and shooting with it. For $100 or so bucks I will have to grab one.

I had the first generation PACT in the late 90s early 2000s. Loved it used it for club matches in Germany every month. I donated it to the club when I PCS'd to Drum.

I recall lusting after the one that had an optional huge display board that it would sync with so everyone on the range could see the score. I don't know if it is still made.

I'm not sure of the one we use at the club for defensive pistol but it works well. The reason I like the Pact is the easily accessible start button. That way I can easily find/push it while it's mounted on my belt.

Make sure you get a timer that has more that 100 sec capability.

You may need it later for rifle.

We shoot 5 rounds in 10 seconds at 50' during Bullseye league. We use .22 cal . good idea to use the same skills with your EDC.
