AX Tactical Utah Non Resident Pistol Permit Class

Just found out there is a Utah Non Resident Pistol Permit Class being offered by AX Tactical for $120 dollars plus the $47 for the Utah application. Was wondering if anyone has gone through the process and thinks this is a decent deal for the class (or knows of another class and the cost). Or are you just better off getting printed and sending out the application. Intrugied me, if I can get the cash together I may take it, I have been wanting a Utah(or Florida) permit for a while now.

If I'm not mistaken UT permit app requires stamp from "UT certified instructor", so you'll need to pay up to apply. Sucks but it is what it is.

Ah okay that's why there are the Utah instructors advertised as being there. And because I like to have other means of legal carry besides for LEOSA.

If they're not covering the cost of your application, anything over $100 for a non-shooting Utah/Arizona class is just too much.

I charge about $75 for the Utah class, depending on the venue. I also include fingerprinting.
A friend of mine runs Utah classes at the Bass Pro Shops in Auburn once a month. That class is $75, and fingerprinting is about $5 per card.

Downstate, they can get away with charging more.

Pa is the easiest.....and cheapest. Lakawana county does it in the spot. $25. Just as good as fl and utah ....unless you need fl.....or you dont have a ny pp

I have a NYS PP so I'm good there. 25 bucks is a good price too. Do you need an appointment or just show up. Have to give them a call when I'm going to PA.

I received the same e-mail but I don't see a $120 fee, I only see the "$47 fee payable to Utah"... oh wait, when I click 'Register' it shows me the event fee of $120. That's super effin shady. For $47 I was going to do it, but not now.

Eventually I'll get PA and/or FL but I rarely travel anyway.

Not really.
Arizona really just requires that you take a class. Doesn't matter what class you take. So the Utah class will satisfy the requirements for Arizona.
The Utah curriculum also satisfies the classroom portion of the Florida class. Florida, however, also requires live fire.
It also satisfies the requirements for Maine, and about a half-dozen other states.

I state that my class satisfies only the classroom portion for Florida. The certificate that I give my students states as much. If they want to use my class to apply for Florida, they can meet with me 1:1 and demonstrate skills. I'll exchange their certificate for one that states live fire has been demonstrated and is valid for Florida.

If you're a resident of a state with which Utah has formal reciprocity, you need a permit from your home state. As New York doesn't have reciprocity with Utah, you do not need a permit from New York if you're a New York resident. The only thing you need for Utah is to take a class with a Utah-certified instructor. Those classes are usually between 4 and 8 hours, and do not require live fire.
