I just recently moved and decided to check up on my bug out bag .
Most everything is good except for my dynamo radio. The rechargeable battery would not take a charge anymore .

This is just a note to others to check up and update !

Yes that's what the Dynamo is
the winder charges the battery but the battery wouldn't take a charge anymore

My dynamo still hums, but at a slower rate.

Only carry the stuff you will need and use. I think this is the most important "Rule" of a BOB.

Second rule, make sure you know how to use everything in the bag.

Keep it as simple as possible. The last thing you need is complication within the bag. Carry the bag on walks. You can just walk around your neighborhood; see how it fits and feels. You may need to adjust the way it is loaded. Check the weight of it while you are walking. If it seems too heavy, it probably is.

I use my treadmill nearly everyday, I have my bog on my back every time I walk or jog.

Extremely smart @GOPerfect. I think far too many guys think they can load up on stuff and just be ok. Yet when the SHTF and they start the many mile walk items start falling out of the bag with regularity because it's too heavy. Not to mention stay in shape with it as well.

Solar and windup. That's what my cheapo baby does..and has multiple head connector slotfor charging smartphones etc..can't go wrong with windups..ever.
