Basement bargain O/U?

Is there such a thing? I see $500 cheap O/U and of course the nice ones going for 4 digit prices, but is there any made that are really cheap?
Just something made for killing and getting beat up in the brush would be cool. That's something I never even see used, a beat up O/U, they're always in really decent shape. Unlike many pump guns we've all bought over the years that showed how much and hard they were used, and dropped many times, with a price reflecting that too.

Considering I've been looking for the same thing I can tell you they don't seem to exist. I'm looking for the same thing for brush kicking for rabbit and grousse. The best and closest I've seen is the CZ teal at cabelas. Now it's hard to say if it's good or bad since there is not much info out there about it because it's a cabelas exclusive. I know right now it says $850.00, but I've seen it $200.00 off at $650 and if you can get a coupon for like $25.00 and a few gift cards for Christmas you can get it close to the $500.00 mark. It's sad to pay $1,200 for a gun your going to beat up. The only other option is a used side by side.

How about this Escort with synthetic stock? I bought one few years ago for my son to shoot trap/sporting clays and for a couple pheasant hunts. Hundreds of rounds through it with no issue. No idea how it will hold up long term but with the limited amount you plan to use it fits the bill.

Well now those are interesting, I've never seen or heard of an Escort or Tri Star. They might very well be junk long term and thousands of rounds but for what I'm interested in that just might fit the bill. I haven't had Grouse or Pheasant in a long time and there are plenty around here to kill.
I can't use my Winchester 12 because the barrel has been cut to 18", my gunsmith believes it was for the local PD, so I'm not even going to bother to pattern it.

The Setter is looking like a good buy though and has a 5yr guarantee. I'm not the type that would want a really nice O/U anyway, firearms are nothing more than tools to me and I use them as such. I'd really be pissed if I scratched up the stock of a $2000+ gun.

Start e baying all that crap that you dont use that is lying around......trade coffee/beer/donut/movie/cell phone/ cable tv/ internet phone into money in a jar. In a very short time you will have plenty of “extra” money.

By my rough estimation.....quitting nicotine 21 years ago was supposed to net me like roughly $46,000.......(i am working with a quick average.....i could be off a bit in either direction). Now i never kept it in a jar like i was supposed to but holy fuck! that is a shit ton of 4 digit guns. (I am still not sure where all the money went...... )

Coffee.....i still do coffee....with a stupid italian espresso machine.......BUT, If you buy 2 cups of convenience store slop coffee at around $4 a day.......there is a “free” $1400 toy.......if you do starbucks slop, even more.

I gave up the Bay, a lot of hassles even when certain terms were explicitly stated in the ads. Haven't had even a beer in 15yrs or a smoke in 25. Do still dip but thats a can for 3 weeks. Cheap at the reservation. I also gotta have my coffee, but I'm the Foldgers type. I refuse to do Starsucks just out of principle.
I used to make a nice bit of hobby/gun money buying and selling/parting out the old Cub Cadet garden tractors. Once the scrap prices went through the roof the scrappers bought everything up and dried up my income. Aluminum is nice though. I grab all the free tires advertised on CL that have aluminum rims on them. Save the tires for a backstop and rims for scrap. But even that's drying up. Damn scrappers lol.
Otherwise we're on a pretty tight budget already, although my wife will never give up her Dish Network.
I do still have a Cub Cadet to move. Just need to get pictures so I can CL it. Hell, that'll be a basement O/U/

i have a Ithica SKB O/U , skeet fix chokes on both barrels .. used for 700.00 .. 50 rounds every week for 2 yrs so far and still shooting ..

I'm not cash in hand ready yet. I was looking on the net at different O/Us, for some reason the images aren't coming up on BassPro or Cabelos. They may be in a flash format so I'll need to wait for a Linux update to fix that. YouTube works though so I can check them out there.

After seeing some videos the TriStar is kinda looking better. Looks like there is a lot of problems with the second barrel firing with the recoil driven trigger reset of the Condor. The TriStar is all mechanical. Will still watch some more though.

i think the stoegers fail more if used as a full skeet/trap gun .. lots of shooting .. we had a young guy at are club with one and it ran fine for a the year he was shooting with us .. its a option thou if you just want a cheep beater back seat gun ..

You know what else kinda bothers me? The Maverik and TriStar O/U started out in the $350 range NEW. Now they're over $420, only a couple years later. I've seen some used ones that are over $375 and show signs of being used. Never though second rate shotguns increased in value. No way I'd spend that much when new isn't that much more. I would expect it with the high $$$ guns, just not these entry level O/Uers. Still looking though.

I paid 700 for my Ithaca SKB 600 i think is the number O/U .. used gun .. which was right in the range on gunbroker at the time i got it . Almost bought a Italian O/U , had the background check done then noticed dual triggers . oh SHIT .. FLL can we cancel .. i'm not sure on the dual trigger .. .. yep no problem .. phew .. but man it was a nice looking O/U .. the SKB i ran for like 2 years every week 50 to 100 rounds really well .. then work sched changed so can't make the shoots ..

I considered looking more at the Stoeger you linked me to but by time I add in the fuel for a 8 hour round trip in my truck to buy the gun and the good deal on his ammo it would be more than I want to spend. Even having it shipped to an ffl then a transfer will cost more than new. Just too far away for me.
Looks like I got my Cub Cadet sold so I have some cash to work with now. Just needs to be fairly local.
