But the article said Stockton has 300,000 with 1 in 4 below poverty. So that is 75K people at 500/month x 12 a year = almost half a billion dollars. Now is Stockton ready for that one? Good luck. But on the bright side, Stockton will have cured San Francisco's homeless problem...

How about a basic universal day job to justify the $500/month? A little basic public service.

My son and I did some monthly community service in a local soup kitchen (5 years). It was a lunch only place. "Some" of the attendees participated in washing the pots and pans, garbage detail, stockroom. The chief cook and manager made sure they took home some extra food for dinner, breakfast, days off.

I don’t see how this could fail. If some one gave me $500/per month I’d give it a good review.

Now with that being said to go to this for everyone for the robots taking over the world I just do t get it. If your going to tax robots enough to pay for everyone e to live why not just let people work for that money. Oh wait it’s not about a paycheck it’s about people CONTROL!!

While I agree that’s the spirit of welfare, but many people sit on welfare for life and don’t try anything.
