Why they only fail to detect the banned item like 5% of the time. Great that we pay a fortune for the appearance of some semblance of safety. I'm really glad they bomb swabbed my granola bars last time because that did a lot.
I returned home from my last deployment July 2008. I went through the airport in St Louis to come home. I was in uniform and was carrying a camo bag loaded with a bunch of personal stuff. As I go through security, the guy asks if I have and guns, bullets or powder. My reply was a simple "Nope". The TSA guy tells me that he needs to swap my bag and uniform. I say, whatever. I just want to get home. So he swabs and comes back positive for trace powder. They detain me and start to question why I have residue. My response was something like, "Why do you think?". He calls a supervisor over, after showing this asshat my orders and other documentation, (and 2 wasted hours), he allows me to go on. Yeah, I missed my flight and it took an additional SIX hours to catch another flight home! Asshats indeed!

i will never fly because of this TSA crap again .. forgetting about something in your bag or even knowing and walking up to declare it and they blow the hell up like your the evil one .. FK them .. a bad guy would be steady shooting from the front door and walk on thru the check point .. fuckin dumb ass LIBS ..
