Drugs are bad Mmm okSo the Sheriff they interviewed is advocating for everyone to lose their shit every time they see something that looks like a scary gun?
WTF??
Years back at the wally world in Monticello NY area they had ammo locked behind counter at the same time having 12G and others trap shooting ammo on shelve islesDuring the pandemic, I went to my local Walmart to buy Crosman pellets that they had on a rollback. I went to the sporting good counter, and told them I wanted 24 packages of these pellets. The lady stared at me for a few seconds, and said sure.
So she gets them out and asks me for ID. I asked for what, and she said that she needs proof of age. I told her, do I look like I'm under 16 years old?! She was like, "It's store policy." and as I was contemplating my next move, she started scanning the items and rung me out without checking my ID. She put them in a paper bag, and she said I need to escort you out with these. So she held the bag, we walked to the front door, and she then handed it over to me.
I think I mentioned it on here, but I can't find the post... has anyone else had this happen, or was it just this Walmart?!
They still do that at a couple chain stores around town,Years back at the wally world in Monticello NY area they had ammo locked behind counter at the same time having 12G and others trap shooting ammo on shelve isles
FIFYhas anyone else had this happen, or was it just this Lawmart?!
Sorry to say but in these times and in this store I understand people freaking out.
And this BS right here, says how easy it will be to get yourself RED FLAGGED by ANYBODY.
That was common practice in just about every Wally world all across the state. There never has been a fix for stupid.Years back at the wally world in Monticello NY area they had ammo locked behind counter at the same time having 12G and others trap shooting ammo on shelve isles
Right - so she knew nothing about guns. In these times, it's better to be safe than sorry. I understand where you're coming from. Hell, when I was in school we carried our shotguns/rifles on a rack in the back of our trucks during hunting season - no one gave two thoughts about it. A lot of these air rifles look identical to the real deal especially from a distance. I think she did the right thing. The guy returning the air rifle wasn't walking out of an FFL per your example - he was walking into a Walmart.I respectfully disagree. In our new home town it is common to see people walking from the local FFLs office down the sidewalk on main street to their vehicles. with a long gun No one freaks out. Honestly, I suspect most people here are armed.
Agreed. Obviously the caller knew nothing about guns other than they are scary.
Walmart *is* an FFL.Right - so she knew nothing about guns. In these times, it's better to be safe than sorry. I understand where you're coming from. Oh, the guy was dumb, but not dangerous. The dummy in this story is the guy returning the gun and not covering it somehow. You HAVE to expect that some pussified retard is going to think someone’s getting ready to shoot up the Walmart. Right or wrong, that’s the world we live in.
It wasn't the store that started the whole mess. The people at the sports counter were professional and courteous. When the man stated he had put 10 BBs in the gun and tried to pump it up one of the counter workers calmly removed the gun from the counter and placed it behind out of the customer's reach, but in no way did they accuse him or call the cops. The store should have handled this differently IMO.
Show me someone who sees a pellet rifle and calls it a shotgun, and I will show you a damn Biden voterIt wasn't the store that started the whole mess. It was a lady in the parking lot who had seen the man fiddling with the gun just before entering the store that called.
Probably. I'm sure Batavia has their share of left-leaning do-gooders.Show me someone who sees a pellet rifle and calls it a shotgun, and I will show you a damn Biden voter
I recently bought a handgun (Ruger Wrangler .22 revolver) from a local shop in town. I walked out with my new purchase in hand, in the middle of town, a hundred yards from the courthouse front steps, and the county sheriff department. Nothing awful happened. An older gentleman leaving a nearby law office complimented me on the purchase then pulled aside his suit jacket to reveal a full size DA revolver in a very nice shoulder rig. Asked what we were hunting and we replied tin cans today, squirrels in season.I respectfully disagree.
