With online versus live bidding, there is always a chance you were outbid by someone, who was bidding live, with the same exact amount as your high bid. Joe explained it yesterday just in case any of the live bidders also had online bids. Good luck with it.

So they don't just start bidding at the highest online bid... that's definitely not how I thought it would work. Thanks for the info.

The invoice on the Savage was $518 and change. Those LW Hunters seem to be around $700 on Gunbroker so I saved about %30 after shipping and FFL fees are added in. The Beikirch's tag was $849 but they've certainly never been know for cheap guns. I think I'm going to swap the barrel to a 6.8 SPC that I've had collecting dust and put the lightest 1-4 or 1-6 I can find on it. The key is not to shoot it before the swap. I tried to do the same to a different Savage in 308 but it shot 165 Accubonds so well that I couldn't bear to take it apart.

The auction of the remainder of Beikirch's ammo inventory is currently ongoing online and will culminate this weekend in a live auction on Sunday. It seems they geared the auction to be appealing to other dealers instead of consumers because many of the lots of ammo are quite large and probably not going to be affordable for the average person. There are some on the smaller side though. All ammo needs to be picked up at the auction location in East Rochester either the day of the auction or the following day. If I have the high bid on anything, it will be a long drive for me.

Well, I bid on 7 items, for which I had the online high bids, and am in limbo now waiting to find out if I had the high bids on anything. Wanted to bid on several more items yesterday afternoon, figured I'd wait until 430 or so, then had to go out to get something done unexpectedly. Only got home after 5 last night and bidding was closed - so those 7 items is it for my bids.

Well, I had bids on 7 items tonight but had the high bod only on an 8 box lot of 35 REM ammo. Got it at a decent price and my fairy godfather should arrange for it to be held for me. last week at the old and military gun auction, I picked up Glock 30 I had bid on at the previous live auction and also had the high bids on a Schmidt Ruben 1911, a Norinco SKS, a Remington Model 29 12 gauge pump shotgun ad a Hopkins & Allen single shot 12 gauge (most likely somewhat of a restoration project gun). That drilling your friend got probably cost more than all mine combined - you guys must work at a good paying job.

He had an online auction printout with one that went for over $5k that was not fully functional so he went for it.

Sorry to revive old thread..didnt know how else to ask my question... Anyone have any news or know anything about a potential new shop or what. I have not see anything pop up and was looking for any signs of life recently. I know that had thier auction of the remaining inventory and just wondering if any update or news on a new shop by some old member of the Beikirchs crew??

Is it owned by the same guys? What happened to Henrietta? What happened to the store ripping off multiple people, per the article above? I will not be patronizing this business. I didn't like them when they were open, and that was before I knew they ripped off multiple customers and ran the business so poorly that they were shutdown by the bank for debt.

Its a different owner, they have a facebook page but no idea when the opening is.

I purchased a run via ryan and I like him best. ie did make stand around too long staring into space. He was good to deal with. I;d like to see him in the new place as well. I was a 1911-22 as well...let me know how you like it. I just wonder why they would want a new name vs the current name they work on...unless they just want a "FRESH" start.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread. Just swung by to say thanks for the kind words!

As you know by this point, the plan to open the new store was cancelled. I can't go into detail, but our situation changed drastically after we officially closed the doors and it put us in a very tough spot personally and financially. After many delays trying to open the new store we eventually had to call it quits so we could go find work to support our families. I would have loved to follow through on the new store, but nothing had gone according to plan. I suppose that's just life.

We really miss the industry and our customers. I would love to be back behind the counter some day, but in the meantime I'm just trying to figure out where I will buy my own shooting supplies.
