Are you willing to participate in a potential federal class action law suite?

Currently looking for Plaintiffs in NYC and surrounding areas who currently or in the past applied for a pistol permit with the NYPD.

Regardless if you were approved or denied, your rights are still being infringed on with the passing of the most recent laws signed in by Governor Hochul.


If you have a pistol permit, have a denial for a pistol permit or an application pending for a permit with the NYPD and want to discuss joining the efforts to legally force the NYPD to grant you your rights as decided on by the Supreme Court please email: Amy L. Hey folks. Just want to clarify the staff note at the top of this post.

I held back this thread from being visible until I made contact with the poster to determine if he was an official representative of Bellantoni Law Firm or someone who'd joined new to post this information. Turns out it was the latter , and no problem, but I just didn't want any mix ups of anyone believing someone was an official representative if they were not and volunteering information or anything like that directly to the poster.

The email link he's provided is legit, and does go to the the Bellantoni Law Firm , so all good.

Anyway, while not a representative of Bellatoni Law , @NY/NYC_Old_Ironsides seems like a nice fella, so welcome to the forum.

So a little bit more about the circumstances that I’m referencing. I live in NYC and had been a premise permit holder until my renewal in which I was denied for some really ridiculous reason. That is the short version.

In the midst of this I reached out to an Attorney Amy Bellantoni in Scarsdale, NY who is known for her work with the 2nd amendment to handle my appeal. My appeal was denied but in the meantime the Supreme courts ruling came down in favor of NY Rifle Association. ( clearly you are aware)

So bottom line is Amy is looking for potential plaintiff's in NYC and surrounding areas willing to become involved in a federal class action law suit.

Yeah, besides the security thing, that was the other reason I wanted to know if we had a representative from the firm on the site.
I know I've seen and heard the name mentioned positively here and elsewhere before so I figured it might be taken seriously as a firm that might potentially actually get something done.

Back in 2013, a few of the site staff from the 'old place', including myself, got in sort of close and personal with the.. *ahem*.. a certain other law firm, that was supposed to be working against un-SAFE, before our internal conversations finally turned into, "Oh shit, these people are gun law useless and have no place being the ones to do this"; when folks already had such high hopes on them.
Wasn't much point in publically denouncing (or shitting on) anyone at that point in time, because it was already going to be whatever it was going to be.

So, it might be nice to have a firm working on something that actually had some 2A experience, rather than just being slick opportunists.

I also have an unrestricted permit (Orange County, NY), but if the gov gets her way and I can't carry into any business unless they have a sign specifically indicating that firearms are permitted, then the carry part will be effectively neutered. So I am interested in where this is going.

I am in the same boat, and actually used the firm when I was going for full carry right off the bat. Maybe I should do the same.

At the time when I applied for unrestricted (my first pistol permit BTW), the Orange county judges were all 2A friendly and may still be for all I know. They didn't turn people down unless there was major red flag.

I’m sure there’s plenty of upstate folks with full carry permits that wish to legally carry in NYC. They’re the perfect candidate to challenge PL 400 which makes their permits invalid in the city without the blessing of the NYPD commissioner.
