Ya I had my bench rifle out there the same day at that range it was a ragged hole. So I know I was shooting well. Like I said I don't believe it was the rifle I had just set myself up for failure.
If you were shooting good with one rifle then getting 4 inch groups with another it's not you most likely.
That's why I put my statement in there I was doing well that day. So you can rule that out. My opinion is the poor cheek weld was the biggest factor. The other factor was the rifle didn't seem to like the 150 grain rounds from 2 different manufacturers. If you look closely I have a few dead center punches. If you factor in I never got to fine tune the scope because of the poor grouping tells me I was doing my part but the other factors set up for poor grouping. I really like this rifle and I hate to put such a piss poor performance review out there because I don't think it's indicative to the rifles performance.
I guess different strokes for different folks. My worries about that button being depressed while cycling the action in a critical situation is so minute it doesn't worry me in the slightest. I really like the ease of pulling the bolt after every shot and marking the target is huge for a work up as I noted above. I never saw the need for such a bolt release until I had one now I want them on all my rifles.
