Best .22 semi auto

I need a 22 myself. It's either going to be an sr22, or a gsg 1911 22. Check the gsg out if you want a 1911 style, they have great reviews. Sig has one also which is a rebranded gsg along with the inflated name cost.

I have an SR 22 also. Mine has shot everything except sub sonic. The trigger is pretty heavy in DA. other than that it's a good shooter.

hey are 13 and soon to be 10. It's more for the 13 year old my 10 year old has ear problems and loud noises scare him. He sticks to BB guns and paint ball guns. Hopefully he needs one more surgery this year and that will correct that and he will start shooting with dad. He loves swords, crossbows, guns, and knives. So we will see.

For little kids the Browning 1911 22 works really good because it is scaled down to 80% of original size. Maybe not an issue for a 13 year old.

I suggested that last year with him, but he hates things in his ears because his ear pressure is always screwed up. He has ear infection, hearing, and a blown ear drum. It will take some time, but I'm sure he will get over it. I will push this plan a little harder next year since I agree that's the way to go. Thanks for the suggestion.

Not sure of the cost but look at the Sig 938 in 22

Man now you muddied the water. That's a nice gun and gets nice reviews. I have also tossed the idea around of carrying one of them. They are a bit expensive. Seems like the 9 mm with the conversion kit would be about $1,000, but for two guns that's not so bad.

I have an SR22 also. Love it. I read somewhere that the Walther's slide tends to hang up on the hammer. Don't know if they have fixed that.

The take down and reasemble took a little practice but nothing to difficult. Very light weight and fun to shoot. Had no issue with the thread problem as they make them capped like an AR can be. Bought it off of GB no issue shipping in nor selling to another nyer.

The take down and reasemble took a little practice but nothing to difficult. Very light weight and fun to shoot. Had no issue with the thread problem as they make them capped like an AR can be. Bought it off of GB no issue shipping in nor selling to another nyer.

My daughter dated a guy with perfect hearing. He was invited to join some society of people with perfect hearing. He had some very special hearing protection, I think it was very expensive, but nothing was put in the ear. He said sometimes the best hearing protection is an old set of head phones from the high end makers, sans cord.

Good to hear. It's seems like they are both about $300.00. It seems a lot of the sw mp 22 comes with a threaded barrel. Not sure, but I thought threaded barrels on pistols were illegal in New yorkistan.

I owned both the Ruger SR22 and the M&P22. The M&P came with a threaded barrel, and the FFL pinned it before I took possession. Had no problems with either one. I'm not a total fan of the SR22's safety, as it is the reverse of most other guns I have. However, the M&P just always felt like a toy to me. Way too light for my tastes, so I sold it awhile back. To me, the Ruger just feels so much better in my hand, and actually feels like a firearm.

Haven't had any problems whatsoever, so I have no plans to change the spring out with a different design.

Don't forget that not all hearing protection is the same. A set of muffs with a 21dB NRR might not be enough for him, but a 31dB might be. The difference between them is actually a 10x reduction in the level of sonic energy that gets through.

They have a full sized and a compact. I doubt they would offer 3 .22 pistols of the same design with 3 different sizes. They have a 3.4" barreled one which is very similar sized to the shield.
