Yeah, CZ is looking good. If I went Browning I'd stick with a standard barrel. But people bitch about the trigger. I guess the problem is the gun is very light, and although the trigger is adjustable you can't get down light enough. There is a way to lighten it, but that can create other issues. Jard makes a drop-in replacement trigger group for it, but that's like $240 bucks. I had a trigger on my 597 that sucked, but a $40 hammer fixed that.

Honestly, any major option would be a decent choice. For something more premium, a CZ might be nice. For maximum price/performance, something like a Marlin XT-22 is DEAD ON BALLS ACCURATE, and pretty damn cheap.

Marlins are really affordable, maybe I can get two rifles! There sure are a lot of good choices, what a country!!! My 44US needed a a new trigger guard, a magazine, and the ejector. That done, I sold the peep sight and swivels, hand it drilled and tapped and put a scope mount on it. The bolt handle hits the scope mount a wee bit, but a little massage with a Dremel will fix that. I'm not a collector and want that thing to shoot.

There is now a aftermarket trigger for Marlins which was something some people had issue with.

Almost swooped on a 457 varmint...impulsive act averted. Did find it for under 6 though. CZ is high on list.

Are you apposed to looking for one on GB? There are at least 8 pages of CZ .22 rifles on there. Many listed under $500 Scout, trainer and Varmint rifles.

No, not really. Actually, I have an account, but I've never done anything buying or selling. I had a rolling block I was going to list, but ended up selling locally (this is the cash burning a hole in my pocket).

Speaking of GB...nope, did not buy a rifle. Did buy though, a Leupold 3x9x33 with an AO for 265 or so. If you're looking for a rimfire scope not a bad deal. No rifle, but got the scope!
