Best gunsmith for cutting barrel/magtube on lever gun?

Im going to be looking to purchase a marlin 1894 in 44 mag one of these days (tax returns if im lucky), but i want it with a 16" barrel. Problem is they only make them in 20" now ($500 bucks new), and used models with 16.25" barrels are typically close to $1000.

So, who is the right gunsmith in the hudson valley region that than cut/crown the barrel, solder on the fron site, and cut the magtube/spring, etc..? And what would that cost anyway?

I want it to look similar to this.

Why? He is not that far (way closer to me when he was in walkill! ). Ship it already. It would only be like 8-12$ in shipping by the post office.

Bring it to me. I've got a pipe cutter and a dremel to get the crown just right. I even have some cold blue in case of any woopsies.

I totally concur!!!!!!! John's a great guy, he's got a couple of my guns right now. Only issue is he's busy as a one armed paper hanger in a hurricane! But when you're good.....everyone goes to you.
