Could mean that people waste more food, or shift their purchasing to more expensive items.I'm not following the link between more welfare makes items at the grocery store more expensive? Is this correlation or causation? The people on SNAP are going to be buying food if they are on it or not, there should be no artificial surplus of money in the economy.
I am no economist but maybe the unheard trillions we dumped into the system and had more to do with it?
Probably because the govt doesnt pay the full value of a dollar for the welfare cards... and supply and demand. When there are millions more buying food on tax payers dime than before then prices go up.I'm not following the link between more welfare makes items at the grocery store more expensive?
