i just watched a video or read about "community caretaking" a few days ago and from i read/watch this was used in like car impounding by LEO and they inventory
the autos contents ... no warrant needed ..

Never talk to the police without a lawyer. If they have the jurisdiction to do something, they will. They don't need you to do what they have a warrant or permission to do.
