We are increasing our LNG exports to the EU, without increasing our domestic production, all while demanding US customers consume less. One article said we are going to undercut Russia's prices to help the EU switch to US gas.
It is all a sleight of hand though, and sounds like a great way to drive prices even higher here at home. I'm pretty sure "Swaps" is self-explanatory in this case. Russia's exports aren't going to be significantly reduced - they will just be selling to Asia instead of Europe. All we are going to do is disrupt supply chains even further.
There are a bunch of other articles, but this is the only one I saw mention HOW we are going to increase our output right now.
Asked how the US would increase its supply of LNG, given that producers are already running at full steam, a senior White House official said the plan would involve “swaps” with international partners, particularly in Asia, to free up gas during Europe’s winter.
