Big cats in NY

That's a great pic - what's the black, red stuff in the lower left with what looks like letters on it? Not doubting the authenticity of the pic in any way.

Mountain lions have recently been seen near The 'Hood by residents, but the DEC always says "No way!".

Looks to me like the image stamp many of the newer game cams put on the pictures. Best guess would be a phone was used to take a picture of the image on a pc screen.

You can clearly see the left edge of this image is a photo of a photo or the curvature of a PC monitor and photo of that screen. But hey, if it's authentic that's only a dozen miles or so from my border with CT..no doubt they'd wonder into the same geography, they don't care about invisible State lines. Either way it's a definitely a cool pic. FDEC closed mind BS!

Actually I think the DEC says no breeding population. There was a positive DNA confirmation of a wild (not released) cougar from the Dakotas that moved through the Lake George area and eventually got itself road killed in CT just a couple of years ago.
