A lot of stores have the .300 savage in stock.i think it is NOS.

About 5 or 6 years ago I was camping upstate. Family on the next site was local. He worked for Remington at the Ilion plant. They furloughed their workers for two weeks, twice a year.
He was telling me that corporate was bringing ammo manufacturing back from Arkansas because they couldn't get people to work. Seems they put the plant in an area where many people don't have the same work ethic that you and I are used to.
Even back in the 80s I knew a contractor in western NC. He had a hard time getting people to work a consistent week. Seems as though many would work until they had enough $ to do the next thing they wanted to do and take off until they needed to work again. Or just not show up because the fish were biting.

I hope so. Im tired of telling my customers that I have save the ammo for gun purchases.
I’ll swap some ammunition or reloading components for an m44us...always looking for another m44. I reload for almost every one of my neighbors... I have plenty of components

Seriously..... I was literally days away from starting to reload when this shortage began. We must have a lot of hand loaders around here because the components disappeared along with the ammo. I just went through my once fired brass.....I have many hundreds of several calibers......357 mag, 38Sp, 9mm, 10mm, 45 acp, 40 S&w and 308 WIN.
Im only gonna reload 357 mag, 10mm and 38SP at first.

I can say this, the new manufacture Rem 20 gauge 2-3/4" #3 buck I just got, high quality. Tight neat crimps etc. I think Vista/Fed brought it up a notch or two better QC than Rem.

Plenty out there if you want to spend .60 to .70 per round.
I can't find it and I spend a fair amount of time looking.
I found some out of state last month. Yes, on a family road trip I made sure we stopped at stores in WV and SC. I was able to snag 2 boxes of 50 fmj.
Locally I've only found 2 boxes of 50 fmj and 1 box of 20 federal HST all year. Thats it.
I've had far more luck buying 5.56 or .22lr but I really want 9mm and cannot find it. Hell I bought 7.62x39 today and I don't even have a gun in that caliber....yet...
