I wish I could believe it, but I still think Mr Obama will be the replacement. On Newsmax this morning they were showing poll numbers that indicate Mike has the best chance at beating Trump. To the dilusional dem voters it would be like having their heartthrob Barrak back in the WH, they will come out in numbers that will make it easier to cheat. This confirms that is an option. They could either turn the money into a PAC but the donation amount is only $3,300 per election per candidate or the money could be returned to the donor so they could in turn donate it to someone else. So t put this past them and it’s the second to last paragraph in this article.

I doubt there is a single person with a "D" after their name that can pull in the Independents right now. Every single potential candidate has so much negative baggage they'd be better off finding a no-name to run.
That's a problem. The only group that will be energized by replacing Harris will be the left wing of the party. I can imagine the frantic conversations going on behind the scenes in the dnc. They must be spending a ton on private polls with all kinds of scenarios to see who could replace Biden/Harris and appeal to independents without tearing the party apart. My hope is they can't find anyone.
