An interesting development as Big Tech decides to go into full totalitarian surveillance and targeting mode. Encrypted communication apps are now exploding with new users
Inherently people want freedom, liberty and privacy. The more Big Tech shows they are ideologically totalitarian, and simultaneously supportive of the big surveillance state, the more the free market will provide options to get away from their reach.

Check out Rob Braxman’s videos. He calls himself the “Internet Privacy Guy” and I believe he grew up in a dictatorship (possibly China) so he knows what we’re up against. I’ve learned a ton form his videos over the past few days.

I think @SomeSoldier posted Braxman's video a while back.

I have some thoughts on what can be done from a private citizen standpoint, and how best to help out. I've shared these thoughts, mostly privately, with a few people such as @SomeSoldier via comms.

Braxman's points make sense. You need to starve the beast to death. They rely heavily on advertising. Kill the advertising revenue, and you reduce their abilities many fold.

Apple, by contrast though, is less reliant. If you don't use a phone for work that may require apple, I suggest looking into a de-googled android phone or even of the several privacy centric phones that have cropped up -- so long as it meets your needs apps wise.

Most apps can be side loaded. Almost zero reason to use apple or google.
