2) I honestly didn't know that it was legal in New York to marry a 14 year old. Isn't it already illegal to screw a 14 year old? What are you going to do for the first 3 years of your marriage, live like normal married people and not get any?

It is illegal. But in some cases of a child getting pregnant with someone over 18, instead of going through the criminal bullshit, the parents actually forced the child to marry their rapist! Because they didnt feel like dealing with it!

Because, according to the Law, a 14 year old cannot give informed consent. No matter how mature they may or may not be.

Another way to look at it - marriage is a contract. Whar other legally binding contracts to we let 14 year olds enter into?
