Bill in NYS could push minimum wage to $21.25/hour by 2026 and then increase with inflation every year

Its always been a rubric of sorts for me when I started working for a living as a teenager. Whatever minimum wage was, you had to make at least twice that to be "making a living." By making a living, I mean necessities (food/drink, clothing, shelter, transport, self-defense) and have some left over for a few extras and a bit of saving for a rainy day.
If we're talking about building any wealth beyond making a living, you have to making at least 3X minimum wage and overtime, and even that would be a bare minimum "I've got more than I absolutely need" and "more than just extras" kind of situation.
If minimum goes to over $21/hour, this state will go teats up very quickly. The steady river-like stream of NYers making the move to greener pastures will make the current exodus look like a trickle that drips out of a leaky faucet.
Minimum wage should never have been implemented at either the Federal or State level. Its nothing more than another bad policy that hurts our economy. Not that we have much of an economy any longer, and I have little confidence that real solutions are ever going to go in effect to stop the bleed, nationally or at the state level.

Yeah, the pizza inflation blew my mind as well.
Really, any restaurant is insane nowadays. It just really sticks out at pizza joints because the product is still cheap to make. A large cheese pizza with ingredients bought in bulk is still only $2 or $3 in ingredient costs.

Yeah. A while back I won’t forget this guy walks in to get two slices at Franco’s pizza and they are small slices. The counter chick said $10.80 and I almost shit myself.

Jesus Christ. The last time I even ate at a restaurant, which was closer to 4-5 years ago, a cheese pizza was around $20 if not less.
This makes me more thankful for my stove. If they want to make such a profit, I’ll make it myself. I don’t need them.
