Only for people not invested in it. I can now pay for goods and services @41,000 locations across the US with nary an MC code given to .gov.
Have u looked a SPEDN or Zashi crypto spending apps? I bought movie tickets yesterday with ETH using SPEDN.The problem is rules and regulations. Most bank transfers that 3 to 5 days to settle. We in New York State have it even worse. We can use Coinbase, Gemini, PayPal or SoFi, or Square. PayPal and Square will buy for you but you can only spend it on PayPal or square. When you sell it you run into Tax issues. I just recently discovered SoFi and I am trying to get my grandsons to leave Robinhood for SoFi. either way plan on about a 3 to 5 days before you can actually start buying unless you use a credit or debit card. I highly suggest starting off with a hundred bucks, If it goes down buy with another hundred if it goes up use another hundred. Dollar-cost average. there are projections from 200 k to 1 million as a price for Bitcoin, a 100 dollar purchase today at 57k would mean $350 at 200K and $1755 at 1 million.
You can open an account with Coinbase. Then link your bank. transfer in some money but when you are ready to buy, open COINBASE PRO
make your purchase there. (cheaper fees). Most other exchanges won't deal with NY Residents thanks to NY Regulations.
ONce you have an amount, whether it be 50 or 100 or 1000 everyone will tell you not to leave it on the exchange and transfer to a wallet. That is a personal choice. Every time you move it around there is a slight fee of a couple of dollars or more.
I will tell you now that it will take a few days for everything to settle.
WeBull SofI and Gemini also take NY Residents.
When I started all of this I watched YouTubers explaining Crypto for a month or two.
I own BTC Etherium Litecoin Cardano and several others
Cardano is my next largest holding. It is very hot now at $1.20 and I am hoping that it goes to around 40 bucks this year.
None of this is financial advice, I'm answering a post.
I watched the 2018 documentary titled the same thing.Big day for me yesterday I went to the movies with Butterfly. We saw Last Breath pretty good.. A story about a guy who lost oxygen/helium at a depth of 100m for 29 minutes and survived. @Darth. But I digress.
The big deal for me was that I paid for admission with ETHER / Ethereum cryptocurrency using the SPEDN app. I loaded the app with my crypto of choice that I purchased on CoinBase. Then it became a matter of generating a QR code on SPEDN. the theater scanning it, and the payment was made. I am 74 years old and if I can do it then anybody can. Not all merchants are capable of taking this type of payment with the list growing
What no big deal sounds like a Credit Card right? Except there are no banks involved, no identification, no SS#, no addresses. NO MERCHANDISE CODES sent to .gov. There are other benefits to using this form of payment such as being able to move funds across borders with out .gov interference.
I stopped investing in the stock market decades ago and only in the past 5 years or so have entered the crypto realm. I would like to enjoy the fruits of this labor but my goal is to create generational wealth for my family. I live pretty comfortable on my pension and SS and a small RMD but would enjoy a big splurge paid for by crpto returns.
IMO, crypto is here to stay and can have purpose outside of memecoins, blockchain could be used to manage .gov expenditures. POTUS has stated the need for a US Crptocurrency Reserve and called out one of the coins I hold to be included in it, $ADA.
I am up on my crpto holdings but have not invested more than I can afford to lose. DYOR, but I think there are gains to be made in the Crpto market.
Am postiing this in the Stock Market thread also.
