History is all well and good and important to know but we are talking about current events.
It still goes back to the original comment that there is a reason black people are less likely to own firearms than white people

I get what you are saying but its not that way anymore.Again go read up history on why felons can't own guns or vote
I get what you are saying but its not that way anymore.
I have black friendcwho have buying guns for decades with no problems with Jim Crow laws any questions whatsoever. Pass the BGC, take home their gun.
These days its all about what the left and the media want them to believe.
It doesn't matter what way it is right now, the point being gun control has always been to prevent black people from buying guns,
You like to argue just to argue sometimes, I think. That's OK, that's your right.
"It doesn't matter what way it is right now"?
Isn't the entire point here that lots and lots of people - regardless of race - have no idea they can legally obtained the means to defend themselves?
And why don't they know? Hmmm maybe because the system since the beginning has been preventing them from being able to exercise their freedoms.
Its funny, mention how the government is trying to stop gun owners from owning a gun, or make it harder and everyone screams "sHaLl NoT bE iNfRiNgEd"
Bring up how the government has always been trying to prevent black people from owning guns since day one and its "uhg black people can buy guns just like the rest of us there is no problem, the government isn't actively trying to prevent them from owning guns"
But yes I'm just "arguing to argue" has nothing to do with actual historical evidence that people are trying to ignore
The point being that it currently has nothing to do with race and everything to do with control which takes me all the way back to my original point.
Virtually all of the divisions and problems we have in this country are economic, not racial, in nature.
And why don't they know? Hmmm maybe because the system since the beginning has been preventing them from being able to exercise their freedoms.

Well that helped, so I call bs on your statements.
My point us that there can be two things that are true. And why don't they know? Hmmm maybe because the system since the beginning has been preventing them from being able to exercise their freedoms.

I know that many minorities believe they cannot own guns because of the GOVERNMENT telling them they shouldnt....or cant.
But......there are also alot of minorities who KNOW they can own guns and do own many guns.
The difference is geography and who they are listening to.
Heres an anecdote.....
Ive talked here a bit about my friend that works with me. He grew up in Buffalo in the projects. His mother moved him here when he was a teenager.
While growing up in Buffalo, he just knew that guns wrre not for his "kind".
His mother, teachers and mentors all told him that owning a gun is the quickest way to get killed by thugs or cops. Literally EVERYONE that owned a gun in this area was a criminal. My friend did not know of a single gun owned by a good guy......im sure there were plenty but no one talked about it.
If you were known to carry a gun (legal or not), you were a target from other criminals.
Now my friend has been here in rural WNY for over a decade and owns many guns and most of what he learned young was BS.
However, I am questioning his choices.
He sent me a message last night that he just bought an .223 AR which was custom built by a local shop. He says he paid $450 brand new........I am very leary.....
Oh, I dont know anything but I will post pictures. Maybe you all can help him modify it a bit.Oh im sure he got a "custom" ar for under 500 bones. It was probably a tossed together Bear creek arsinal pos hahhaha that gun shops love because they are cheap trash that sell quick
Oh, I dont know anything but I will post pictures. Maybe you all can help him modify it a bit.
He is also clueless about MSRs but he wanted to start cheap. He has the money to upgrade if he wants.
Equal rights means you practice and participate in all your civil rights. If you voluntarily give them up, that's on you. Once a year we are given the opportunity to secure our rights but many stay home and choose not to participate or trade their rights for lies and deception. I think the first liberals in the US were the ones that bought Manhattan island from the indians for a trunk full of beads.
Oh sorry I don't have any links saved just for @fresch on my phone for a moments notice because he didnt know how to use Google
So because YOU don't know how to research something that makes MY "statement" bs, ok bub.
Quick question? Why can't we open carry in California
Ok, what year to start 1800's, 1900's, 2k?
Well you run your mouth pretty good how about you backup what you said or am I supposed to look up your bs at a moments notice? I could but where would I start with so little information given?
For those that are google challenged. A quick google search yields that gun control started in California. You’re truly the NRA, supported the Mulford Act. The Muford Act was a law passed that banned open carry. It was in response to the Black Panthers open carrying in Oakland neighborhoods who were lawfully conducting armed patrols of Oakland neighborhoods, in what would later be termed copwatching. Governor Ronald Reagan, who was coincidentally present on the capitol lawn when the protesters arrived, later commented that he saw "no reason why on the street today a citizen should be carrying loaded weapons" and that guns were a "ridiculous way to solve problems that have to be solved among people of good will." In a later press conference, Reagan added that the Mulford Act "would work no hardship on the honest citizen."
It later spread to other cities and states with heavy, black populations.
Where did it start and why?The law doesn't single out blacks, no one can open carry.
Can anyone show a law just for black gun restrictions?

At this point, it’s all about the winning the argument rather than learning. Many here are like that.
