I can legally carry them whenever I want with my Glock 26, even here in NY. No one as to qualify me with them for them to be legal.

So, I contacted my local dealer about pricing on a Glock 189 Gen 3 and a Glock 19 Gen 4. I was told $490 out the door. It is a better price than retail but not as much off as I had thought it would be, at least on the Gen 3. On the Gen 4 it is about a $100 savings over his regular out the door price, on the Gen 3, it is only a $65 savings - that seems odd. That is too bad too because I want a Gen 3 but not if it does not have the same discount as the Gen 4. Also, someone else seemed to indicate I could expect a price of about $425, add tax to that and it would be about $465 total. That difference is substantial considering I could buy a couple of boxes of ammo with the money saved. I will have to shop around a little more to see if I can find that lower price locally.

Transfers a 442 and 590A1 from Buds and all they did was talk shit about Buds. They couldn't come close to either price and resorted to saying it is because Buds only sells second quality stuff.
Yes, I feel out of place in that shop sometimes, depending who is there. Do not feel "good enough" to enter. If the price is right I'd grab a blue label from there tho.

There is a made up qualification in NYS for 15 round magazines under LEOSA. As far as I am aware, and I have been fairly well versed in the requirements of LEOSA, there is no requirement under LEOSA to qualify with 15 round mags. The reason it was made up was so it would address the NY SAFE Act. Under LEOSA, you must comply with state law as to magazine size. There are no exceptions, unless that is something very recent that changed in that law.
Under the SAFE Act, if you qualified with an authorized firearm in which you used 15 round mags, and you currently have those mags, that were issued by your department or agency or you bought them for use in an authorized weapon, all within 6 months before retirement, then you can carry those 15 round mags. Maybe you can also carry replacement magazines but I am uncertain of that last thing.
The laws are convoluted, each on their own and more so when looked at combined but many folks convolute them even more to try to suit their purposes. A firearms instructor, eligible to qualify someone for LEOSA, adding a notation on a LEOSA qualification card that you qualified with 15 round mags is just someone adding an unnecessary thing to the back of the card.

I understand everything regarding LEOSA and NY's laws internally, just wasn't sure what you meant when you said you couldn't be trusted with the 15's.

No. Just meant that the government of NY does not trust virtually anyone to buy a 15 round mag. Yes, I am grandfathered in with my old mags because I was an LEO but a not trust worthy enough to buy a new 15 round mag just as is no one else in this state who is not currently an LEO. The law is absolutely ridiculous on every level.

I wonder why they did that? The veteran ID is for folks that want VA health care. Lots of us went right to good jobs after discharge and don't want Tricare. Didn't congress say they were going to make a new ID for everyone with a DD214 that has a honorable discharge? I remember that from a few years ago when Obama was CinC.

A Veteran ID and an ID for a Retiree is different. The Veteran ID will only allow for a select few Bennies where as a Retiree Card gives all of them.
