Anyone know if 50 bmg is allowed here?
And how far does it go out? 200, 300 ?
Couldn’t get anyone on phone.

Theres a range in the Catskill and one on LI that can handle .50bmg
Other than those two I'm not familiar with any other ranges in NY that do
Don't need to travel that far Newburgh is closerJust fire it on any street in East New York or Brownsville, it will blend in with the background noise.
Gonna try to call Thursday. .270 is a flat shooter.I would try calling again on Thursday. They're open Thurs-Sun 10am to 3 or 4pm. They have 300 yard targets, though they seem to rarely get used. I've been meaning to shoot 300, but haven't worked up a load since replacing the stock on my .270.
I had a 1.75-5x Vortex Diamondback mounted on my old Remington 700 since it was a woods hunting setup. The crosshairs were wider than I liked at 200 yards, so I swapped it out for a Burris 4-20x after last hunting season. I haven't shot it with the new stock or scope yet, but once I work up a good handload at 200 yards, 300 should be cake. Granted, this is no modern precision rifle. I was shooting 2-3 MOA 4-shot groups with it using factory loads, but a good handload got me down to consistent 0.8-1.1 MOA 4-shot groups benchrested at 200 yards. I'm guessing I'll shoot around 3.5-4" groups at 300 since I'm pretty rusty at reading wind.Gonna try to call Thursday. .270 is a flat shooter.
What power glass would you use @ 300 that is, of course your not going iron sights
