It looks to me like the Democrats are not fighting very hard for DACA. I get the feeling that they would benefit in the midterms if they appeared to be fighting for the DACA recipients but they end up facing deportation after the March deadline. Mass deportations just before midterms would ensure the Democrats take the house. It would further increase minority turnout and Trump's base would not be as motivated to vote because one of their main issues (I have no idea why it's a main issue but whatever) is seeing progress.
