Just one year after a bloody dispute involving Indian and Chinese soldiers, both sides are now deploying more troops along the 2,000-mile border between the two countries.

"We are seeing on the Chinese side roughly 200 thousand troops, according to some estimates, flow into areas around the border," Zack Cooper, a senior fellow with the American Enterprise Institute, told CBN News.
And what's been seen as the biggest deployment in India's history, some 50 thousand additional soldiers are matching China's current troop strength in the area.

"What's important is the sort of troops they [India] have," Cleo Paskal with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, noted. "They have some pretty serious high-altitude fighters embedded among them; This is a serious deployment designed to try to make the PLA [People's Liberation Army] be very concerned about doing a land offensive again."

Totally fine living in my basement for 2 weeks from fallout if we never have to deal with china again as a threat or competitior.

I wholeheartedly Believe that we will likely be in ww3 with china in my lifetime, or if not ww3 then they will pass us as global superpower which will lead to our collapse anyway.

I think china being nuked a few times being taken down a peg and not having to fight ww3 against them or having them surpass us as the dominant countrt sounds preferable to me.

Global superpower? It's not going to happen. Do you know the disparity in aircraft carriers between them and us? Do you know how few of their naval ships can actually venture more than 1,500 miles from a home port?

If a shooting war started all we'd have to do is park our navy outside of the range of their land based missiles. We would then destroy every ship coming from or going to China. They don't have the ability to protect their merchant ships with convoys. Since their economy is based on massive imports of raw materials and massive exports of finished goods we could cripple them in 6 months. When their people begin to starve how powerful can they be?

The Chinese are peaking now and are the fastest aging nation on the planet. Their population will be one half of what it is now by the year 2070.

They are poised for a bigger fall than we are.

McArthur was ordered to leave the Philippines by Roosevelt. You can post as many disinformation links you want, it doesn't change the actual record.

I had an interest in WW2 from an early age and when I started the revisionist history of McArthur was in full swing. Much of it was necessary to correct the glowing tribute he received during his lifetime. But as with all things the correction went too far to the extent just about everything I read treated him as a dunce. Then I came across a book called "American Caesar" by William Manchester. An excellent book that captures both his high and low points. He was a pompous ass who was full of himself and surrounded himself with ass kissers. But he also had great personal courage and was a military genius. He truly was a complex guy, representing both the best and worst traits of humanity. I highly recommend the book.
