That is a pretty bad ass stock for a Mosin. The recoil spring pad looks very similar to the Remington 1100 competition stock I had on my .458 SCR for a while. Too bad we can't have that in NY... FUAC!

I've shopped Boyd's a lot. I keep hemming and hawing about a stock to replace the el cheapo plastic one that came on my Rem 700 ADL Syn .243 Win. I've priced a retro- 1970's standard walnut with multi-point checkering for it numerous times.

With my other rifles tho, kinda lost interest in it at this point.

I picked one up one of these with thumbhole last month for a Rem 700. If you are familiar with the AT one stock it was rather boxy by the tang with square-ish edges. They have listened to customers and rounded those edges over on the thumbhole. I have also added the overmolded forend and grip which I found made it much more shootable.

There's not a lot of options for Savage Axis owners. My options are either this, an LSS chassis, or buy a whole new gun. I wouldn't mind spending a little less for this stock (over new or LSS) and getting a better stock, but stupid me reeeeeaeaaaaally wants an AICS mag, lol

Those AICS mags are great system. I am converting my fifth ADL / BDL / SPS stock over to the using PTG bottom metal. A little wood working but the come out nice. I did first one for PRS rifle but the convenience of loading and unloading for hunting had me do others for younger hunters.

I wish there was a stock that did use this. I know Magpul isn't going to make shit for Axis owners, so it'd be nice if someone else did. Makes me just wanna sell this, but it keeps hitting deer when I pull the switch, so I can't complain too much
