so Parades with average citizens need snipers to monitor them and be there in case a bad guy shows up. Or someone steals a baloon?!

What the.....so when Im enjoying an event its now part of it that freaking snipers are on a nearby rooftop just waiting for something to go wrong...is this whats its all come to.......

If I negligently dropped an object off a roof onto a populated sidewalk I would likely face some type of legal trouble regarding endangerment to the public, etc. If I dropped a legally owned firearm off that same roof, what do you think would happen to me? If I owned the building, and I was on the roof, vs if I was trespassing, vs if I said, “I was up there to protect others in case a bad guy with a gun showed up!” After this cop dropped his gun, it’s pretty obvious who the bad guy was here, and who it was that out the public in real danger.

let's be fair here: It's Buffalo and a Parade is a radical's favorite place to create carnage. Snipers/sharp shooters are employed at events a LOT more often than you might think.
We hold Officers, especially those with specific additional duties to an even higher standard, still mistakes can be made and accidents happen... I expect the admonishment from Superiors and hazing from fellow Officers won't let this be forgotten any time soon.

Really? You have a "duty and obligation" since when ? We are constantly reminded of just the opposite!

They have a duty and obligation to do enough to kind of justify their budget.

Thus brings up a good point. Was this building city owned or private property? If private then did they have permission to be on the roof?
