So I was at the store and seen a tac 14 with a brace on it and thought it was kind of cool......but sitting next to it was a tac13 with the birds head grip on it and I got to thinking it would be awesome with the brace. The guy at the store said he isn't sure if you could put a brace on it or not. So is there any law in NY about braces on "other weapons"? Do we just follow the federal law on them? Anybody know for sure or can send a link to any laws that pertain to them? Even the federal law is not very clear on what is allowed and they change there mind whenever they decide. Please help me!

In theory it would be fine, however because ny state law makes such a hard distinction between semi auto and not, people are afraid to do it.
Or maybe no case and enjoy your fun?
The only case I want is a custom made violin case to hold my firearm. If it is not illegal in this state and it's fine with the federal government then what other case would there be? Do you know of any law that prevents it? That is the question? If it is illegal of course I would never do it. But what law prevents a brace on a firearm?

There is no law, like I said, people are scared into submission and relinquished to a life of no fun. Just put on on, it's perfectly legal.
