The only "common ground" I'll find with the Brady Bunch is when they finally FOAD. We have incrementally lost our rights at the federal level since the National Firearms Act of 1934, and since the Sullivan Act of 1911 here in New York. Every time, it's 'common sense'

How about you stop worrying about what goes on in my house and mind your own business. If you want to lock up your firearms, that's your choice and I would not fault someone for that. If I choose not to, it's my fault and would blame no one else if a tragedy occurred. Mind your own damn business.

"Family Fire" is just another made up term akin to "assault weapon." Means nothing. I grew up in a home where I knew where every gun was located and where all the ammo was. Nothing was locked up. I never shot my family members, myself or a school. Fear mongering on behalf of the Brady Bunch. It's probably wise to have your firearms locked up but I do not think it should be mandatory. Each individual should decide for themselves and live with the consequences of those decisions.

The Brady Center did not dispute that comparison, but said it preferred to liken its campaign to one intended to end drunken driving. The article has been updated to reflect the group's preference.
So the MSM lets the Brady Group change how they like to be compared to? How about if the NRA wanted to change how it was compared to say a civil rights organization as opposed to a terrorist group which is is now? Yeah, I have a feeling NBC wouldn't be adding a special clarification for them.

The Brady bunch would probably implode if they came to my house. My daughter has had her own firearms since the age of 7 and has had gun safety drilled into her head for years before that. Huge difference growing up with guns, respecting them and not hiding them because "the kid is too young"

Fact: Brady includes adults in this statistic – This “statistic” includes “children” up to age 24, including adult gang members dying during criminal activity at the hand of other criminals, or by at the hand of a victim defending themself, or by law enforcement responding.
Sad Fact: Using the definition of "child" as a person between birth and puberty (14 years old) there is an average of only 1 child killed by gunfire on an average day (not 13 per day) and the 1 per day is including accidental, homicides and suicides in the data.
Fact: Not only does Brady inflate their statistic 1300% by using adults in the data, Brady also includes child gunfire deaths by homicide, accidental, and suicide in their "13 childeren are killed each day statistic" and infers it is all a preventable death caused by a self defense gun is carelessly stored in the home. Most of the deaths cited in the inflated ad are in fact gang related homicide deaths of gang members 14 - 24 years.
Sad Fact: 26% of gunfire deaths of minors is suicide. Unless the root cause of suicides by those under 18 is resolved, those gunfire suicides would likely just select another more often used option such as over dose, vehicular, etc.
Sad Fact: Nearly two thirds of child homicides by gunfire of under 12 year olds is murder commited at the hand of a parent. Also, "Parental neglect and abuse account for 80% of all child deaths (1,274) which dwarfs gun deaths."
Sad Fact: The Brady campaign is not intended to promote safe home firearm storage but is part of a coordinated scheme (including Moms Demand, Everytown, Gabby, Mayors against) to eliminate or reduce gun ownership in the home. They even have identical talking points chastising the NRA's Eddie Eagle child safety education efforts and NRA's programs providing safe home storage information since these do not provide "a permanent solution."
Sad Fact: In spite of their dishonest ad, the Brady campaign and MSM will attack anyone challenging their ad as heartless since there is still one child killed by gunfire each day during a homicide, suicide, or accident. Maybe their energy would be better spent on better arming and training the 15 men, women, and children per day who are murdered by a convicted felon in government supervised parole/probation programs in the U.S.

You notice both of their "comparisons" are illegal activities, while gun ownership is not criminal activity.
