Brass Trimmer Recomendations

I've got a metric shit-ton of .223 I want to process, as well as some other rifle calibers in lesser quantities. I've been using the Lee trimmer chucked in a drill, but its a pain to do larger quantities.

I was considering the World's Finest Trimmer. It seems like it works fast, but gets pricey for multiple calibers and looks like a pain to adjust case length.

Then I saw the Frankford Arsenal Universal Precision Case Trimmer. It looks quick and can handle multiple calibers.

Whatever you get, make sure it has carbide cutter.

man this looks awesome as long as you know math and not common core LOL ..

ive been using the lee trimmers for the cals i use and a few need a little super glue to keep them from changing after set up

i'm liking this so far ..

I've got the Frankford brass prep machine that basically what your showing here plus some additional step, I don't know if I'd buy another machine like I have but would probably go for the one your showing.

Are you satisfied with the performance of the trimmer part? From the reviews I've read, the length stays relatively consistent.

And is the trimmer bit something that is replaceable. I don't see replacement parts available anywhere. Will it take a RCBS style cutter?

I am happy with it. It took a bit of fussing to get the length where I wanted but after that it hasn't budged. The cutter on mine is replaceable I believe I ordered a new one when I ordered the machine, I'm sure it's in upstairs somewhere, I think I got it from Midway.

I just bought one of these. I have not received it yet, but from what I have read and seen its looks pretty bad-ass! I will report back once I get it and trim a bunch! lyman brass trimmer express - Bing video

Just getting into reloading as I am retiring soon, been gathering what I will need. I picked-up one of these from Harbor Freight for trimming brass will just need to make some jig's for different calibers.

It looks like it might squeeze the cases too much, bend the neck, etc. plus how much tolerance on length if there's any play in it?

Will do! As you say cool experiment and it was cheap at $36.00. What I am thinking is a jig made from some type tubing that the brass would slide into to the desired length.

Maybe a stop that swings up and down to hold the shell from being pushed back by the blade.
Speaking of blade, how many teeth will be making contact?
It may try to 'rip' if the pitch doesn't match the material thickness.
May even get more uniform length results going off the face instead of the shoulder....

I think these would work instead of the saw blade?

I use one of these to Cut brass to make 300 BLK brass and I also have a jig to cut brass for 22TCM. You can find the jig on eBay they are 3D printed and just clamp in. The saw blade does not rip the brass, cuts do have to be deburred though.

I have a few trimmers of different types.
the WFT
the Girard
Lyman manual
lee hand trimmers.

What I typically use is the lee when processing brass, I have the cutter mounted on a RCBS brass prep machine and the shell holder in a driver. I trim chamfer, And debur then uniform the primer pockets All on one machine. It takes some time to go through a couple hundred pieces but it works and all the prep is done when the piece of brass is dropped into the box.
