I expect congress will eventually pass a federal law that criminalizes harassment of politicians in this manner. The person doing this would have loved nothing more than a smack across the face.

I'm sure. But they should not be. Maybe you're onto the answer here: perhaps people getting harassed by other patrons should write some Yelp reviews about how they were accosted at said dining establishment and the management did nothing.

If that were my restaurant I would say what the protesters did was unacceptable and that regardless of politics anybody in the restaurant should be able to eat in peace and if it happens again 911 is called immediately plus protesters told they are trespassing and video will be made of the event to press charges.

He couldn't go so far as to even condemn them (!).

And when this happened no manager on site had the brains or initiative to tell them they are not welcome and to leave immediately as they are trespassing? It wouldn't surprise me at all if his staff did actually tip some people off. Could have been another patron, too.

Restaurants will have to adopt a no-proesting policy (seems stupid you'd even have to codify that) or else others will fall when these buffoons harass people out to dinner.
