The West never had a good post cold war policy. The West actually stepped up its campaign to destabilize and fracture what was left of Russia. Russians will push back and win as they have done for centuries. Russians will not accept double standards or anyone's supremacy.

Not what was left of Russia, it was what was left of the Soviet Union. We did not implement a campaign of destabilization, quite the opposite. Yes we encouraged all the former SSR's toward becoming real republics, but that was considered to be in everyone interest world wide, well except the Chinese. And make NO mistake those former SSR's were all to happy to disassociate themselves from that evil empire known as the USSR or CCCP. Putin could have held it together with the cost of twenty million souls, give or take a million.
Our troubles with Russia today can be laid directly on the doorstep of the Democrat party which is now a socialist advocacy group.

Britain has a long history of supporting Islamic insurgency in Russia before WWII, also in post-Soviet Russia. Thousands of Russians were killed fighting it.
If this story is true, Russians killed only their own traitor.
