Brook Trout weekend.

I went to Alleghany State Park this weekend and there was a little piss creek behind the sites we were on. The one guys kid caught a little trout before I got there. I haven’t trout fished this year yet. I know I have been slacking. So I went to work. First time was with my son, the guy and his son. These kids didn’t listen to a word I said about being quiet, staying back, or staying out of sight. Oh well it was only an hour or so. Next day the kids were screwing around in the pond so I said screw it im going off by myself. I caught probably 20 brookies, lost about 8-10 on the shore, then hooked and lost another 8-10 in the creek. They ranged from 4”-10”. That’s about eight for this size creek. I love to walk creeks and catch trout. Brook trout are beautiful. Next day I went with my son and his friend. We all caught a few. Still too loud and close to the water. My son and I went later that day and I have him the most chances because I was smoking him. Although I did catch about a 12”-13” brook trout. That’s huge for that creek. It was a blast. The pictures of the creek and holes were of the largest ones on the creek or just areas I thought were beautiful.

All released 100% healthy and are native trout. This was a nice healthy creek with lots of trout. Some of these holes had 4-6 trout in them. Some I pulled 2-3 trout out of each hole. So fun!!
