WATCH: Details of major weapons bust in Broome County announced

Firstly, this guy got busted for stealing ammunition. So he's far from innocent, by any stretch here. However, unlike posting this news, what charges they bring against this guy will set the bar for what NYSP may charge for the future regarding the SAFE act enforcement.

Now, in all due fairness, it seems as though the felony charges are related to the unregistered handguns since there are five felonies they're charging him with, and five handguns he had in his possession.

I'm interested to see what, if any, charges are brought against him for firearms in violation of the SAFE act. They may not charge him with anything since they feel they have enough on the other charges, but who knows. Have to be on top of this stuff to know what the courts are ruling.

He didn't convert. He is likely an immigrant. The arabic writing on the flak jacket might indicate the intent. This guy is not just some gun owner being set upon by the law. There is more to this than we will know abd the troopers will never tell us peons.
