I see they are going after drones as well. What is that all about?
The same reason they are going after .50 cal rifles (the sniper rifle type, not black powder types).
They are deathly afraid of being on the receiving end of a not-so-nice drone delivery, or even the usual drone videography which would display their crimes to the world.
The easiest way to make sure their face doesn't end up on the nightly news, or all over the walls, is to ban things or heavily regulate them.
Drones are everywhere and vary so widely in size and Price that regulating them is folly...even the Feds gave up on anything below a set weight...IF one is determined to cause an extinction, they're not going to be concerned with Laws prohibiting the means they plan to use...sort of like charging Criminal Possession of a Weapon in addition to the First Degree murder charge...Handguns are illegal in NY without difficult to procure Licensing, yet there's more crime in NYC committed with illegal guns obtained illegally than places that allow people to protect themselves.
Democrats KNOW what they'd do or like to do, which is why they don't want YOU to have a gun.
