Was actually told this by a cop when I got pulled over a while back. I rolled through a stop sign (didn’t blow through it, just not a full stop) while on my phone.Never break more than one law at a time...

Does seem you hear a number of stories start with joe criminal pulled over for a minor moving violation or taillight out and found to have 17 warrants, 100lbs of coke and a dead hooker in the trunk. No shit, this is what I preach to all of the crims.
If you are transporting large loads of unlawful drugs in your car, do not speed; do not run red lights, etc....
That is the only reason they even pull people over for most of that minor shit.Does seem you hear a number of stories start with joe criminal pulled over for a minor moving violation or taillight out and found to have 17 warrants, 100lbs of coke and a dead hooker in the trunk.
Dead hookers in the trunk isn't even a crime anymore.Does seem you hear a number of stories start with joe criminal pulled over for a minor moving violation or taillight out and found to have 17 warrants, 100lbs of coke and a dead hooker in the trunk.
Should get a tax relief check for doing community service.Dead hookers in the trunk isn't even a crime anymore.
That is why there is nothing in any of my vehicles. That is the only reason they even pull people over for most of that minor shit.
Nobody really cares if your license plate light is out or your inspection is a month overdue. They just want the excuse to run your for warrants and look in your windows.
That is why the tint laws are there. They want to be able to look around for something serious
And they have convinced themselves that that is "good policing".That is why there is nothing in any of my vehicles.
No shit, one night I was coming home from work at 1am, and I had left over takeout and I had a garlic bread roll in tin foil sitting on my passenger seat a top the takeout box. I was the only one on the road and next thing I know I got a local cop pulling me over. Asked me what I was doing out late and what was in the tin foil along with drivers license. Told him I was headed home and it was garlic bread. When I asked what I did wrong, the cop said he though my headlight was out, but was mistaken. Weird I tell ya.

What was the reason?None of that was the reason for the stop though.
What was the reason?
The article just said "multiple vehicle and traffic violations" which essentially applies to everyone driving anywhere.
Presumably most of them were after they tried pulling him over.He received 12 driving violations on top of the more serious charges. This is all public record/.
Presumably most of them were after they tried pulling him over.
What led to the initial stop ?
Something so common that I would suspect the guy going the speed limit was the one hiding something. He was being pulled over for speeding.
Or, if people followed simple driving laws. Maybe he would have rec'd the speed ticket only. Maybe if he had not thrown a gun out the window, maybe if he did not put all others on the 190 in danger.... Maybe....Something so common that I would suspect the guy going the speed limit was the one hiding something.
Unless he was like 20mph over or something.
I'm just saying, if you eliminated the ability to search or run warrants for a traffic stop, and any fines weren't deposited back into government coffers, then you'd see a lot fewer traffic stops.

If you see a guy going 65 on the thruway, *that's* the suspicious guy. Everyone going 70 is normal.
How many traffic infractions do you think you committed last time you left the house ? I guarantee there were a few you didn't even realize.
I'm not saying this guy wasn't a POS, and that getting him out of society isn't a good thing.
What I am saying is that the ends do not justify the means, and the courts and DAs have hamstrung the whole justice system that it causes more harm than good these days.
That and generating revenue. That is the only reason they even pull people over for most of that minor shit.

Its weird to be out 1am? When some places never close. But it's weird. This aint the 1950s fella. That is why there is nothing in any of my vehicles.
