Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority to rip down and rebuild low income waterfront housing

This has to be the dumbest plan I’ve ever heard of. Prime waterfront downtown housing to be ripped down, rebuilt, and kept as low income housing. Fine have low income housing but these are $3,000/month appointments or more. My stupid city did the same thing with apartments on the canal and they built a brand new park for them as well.

There’s nothing like this that happens in Buffalo. That’s south of Buffalo and these apartments will never look like that ever. They are right by the Buffalo naval park, the new harbor front, and downtown Buffalo. This is prime, prime real estate. Honestly I couldn’t think of a better place to have luxury apartments.
I looked at a few waterfront properties down there and they don’t even list the rent. You have to apply first. This place isn’t as nice as those could be and not as prime of a location and I heard they are around $3,400/month for a studio. Of course you get more than a place to sleep there but there land around these apartments to do this or build another one.

Of course these new units will be all electric (those Heat Pumps won't work if frozen over) and instead of collecting millions in property taxes, they'll spend millions in perpetuity for maintenance, repair, and clean up. (Cop's & EMS too)

Yea makes perfect sense. Let's give the most desirable location in downtown (not hyperbole but it actually would be for a private developer) to subsidized housing at taxpayers expense.

I wonder if relocating and getting a better living space services,and quality in exchange is even an option.
Anyway, with gov and politicians involved,risks and problems are guaranteed. Their track record should be enough eason to keep them away from any projects.

It is an "in your face, racist", theft of valuable land for people who cannot or will not be able to ever get enough education and training to do much other than kill people.

One point is that body disposals will be quick in the water., Maybe a ghost gun factory and glock switches will be provided by the State also to augment this insanity.

I read a lot about hunting in Africa 100 years ago...Teddy Roosevelt's book, and Selous,, Bell, White etc.......... and the history of urban renewal in America, via Robert Moses the king of eminent domaine and the race wars here, from 1875 to date. The 1960's race riots that I remember, were amazing times!!

Central park did not exist and was a black community before they tore it all down, drove the BLM to Harlem and created Central Park for the people of NYC to visit.

Many of these on two sides if they position them properly you would see an absolutely beautiful sunset over the lake, the other two sides of positioned properly would see the sunrise over the city. I’d chose the lake side.
