I put one of these on layaway last night. I had a couple of Bul M5s in the 90s which I gave to my dad and brother. Now my brother has both of them. It was mostly an impulse buy since I really don’t need another factory 1911 in 9mm no less. Anyway I will probably slap a compensated barrel on it or more likely strip the frame for the parts and sell the frame, only time will tell.

Yeah, I do have a plan. I did give my 1st exwife a gun while I was out west, so this one is not really a +1. My nieces are going to get ARs from my collection as soon as I configure them so there will be another 3 down.

Picked it up yesterday. Put an ambi safety, Wilson Combat mainspring housing w/magwell guide and adjustable rear sight on it today. Will test fire in the morning. Tomorrow is 9mm day at the range.

I had a Kimber Poly Match double stacked 45 for a short time a few years ago. BUL was marked on the frame . . . wish I had kept it, along with a couple of Para's . . .

My brother has the 2 Bul M5 double stacks I brought back from Germany.

Yup that Kimber Poly Match (in the right hands) was a phenomenal tack driver. Just not my hands. I couldn't shoot anything better than a 4" group at 50 feet. My 4 inch Kimber compact would shoot 1.5" all day long for me. Tore the bullseye right out every time. My P12 did almost as well but I had mag problems. The p10 was The worst for reliability AND accuracy and a C7 LDA . . . well, that trigger . . . I never really liked it.
BHPs and Officer's frames were the best for me for years. Wore out that Kimber Compact finally. Miss it . . . steel, 4 inch, Wilson mags. Loved 185 gr. GDHP. Andrews McDaniel II IWB (still have my second one of these!)

I have paras, quite a few actually. P14-45 down to the warthog. Have a p16-40 and a p14-40. Love me some double stack 1911s.

From what I have been told opening up an LDA is like taking the back off of a Swiss watch.

I could see that. I had a kimber solo that was essentially a double action 1911 and I wanted the trigger shortened and lightened no one would do it.
