Bullet resistant clothing

I have been looking on the internet at different bullet resistant garments and was wondering if anyone has some input? Something that can be worn under a baggy shirt or a hoodie that would be good enough to protect from handgun rounds and possible knife attacks...I guess price would depend on quality...

I can't say there isn't some exceptionally expensive material people are working on in a lab but for most of us yeah you're talking about a vest, and you'll feel it's there. It would be cool to have a bullet impervious extremely thin cloth like material. Perhaps some day.

You are talking about shirts with either pockets for plates or a jacket with an integrated ballistic material very stiff and bulky and not better nor more effective than the vest with whatever loose clothing on top.
In other words either the steel plates are there or the multiple layers of kevlar in the pads.
There is no "bullet resistant" fabric or clothing. They either stop the threat or not and for that you need those materials that are bulky and stiff pad either in a vest or integrated with clothing.
If they are not like that, you know they are useless.
