What to Do with Firearms and Ammunition Affected by Flood Waters | Share the Outdoors
Think of the number of firearms that have sustained water damage in Texas and Louisiana.
I know a guy whose basement flooded here in Buffalo area. His safe had water up to about the middle. It was only in water for 2 or 3 days. When he opened the safe, the long guns were visibly damaged half way up. Wood Stocks were discolored and wet steel was rusted.
I know these can be repaired and restored with some effort. Not all the gun owners have the time to do it.
Could be a nice little side business of repairing water damaged guns. Of course, here in the "Free" state of NY you would need a smithing license I am sure.
